Our History

InTrust is a boutique investment adviser utilizing a unique wealth management process to help its clients define their dreams and objectives and then take the steps necessary to realize them regardless of whether stock markets trend up or down.

Our uncommon history began in October 1997, when InTrust was formed as a multi-client family office.  The company's founder and CEO, Jeff Diercks, combined multiple dedicated family office practices into a single firm.   A family office is a dedicated staff of people that takes care of all the financial related needs of a single or multiple super wealthy families.

Family offices traditionally utilize a number of investment related services over multiple accounts so InTrust Advisors became a registered investment advisor in that same year.  As is the case with many investment advisory firms, InTrust grew by managing the mostly non-discretionary accounts of its family office clients and by attracting friends and family money that it managed on a discretionary basis.

Hedge funds have always been a staple of the ultra wealthy client and the firm’s CEO already had several years of experience in this area prior to forming InTrust.  As the popularity of hedge funds increased, so did the firm’s expertise in this unique niche.

In 2000, the firm offered its first hedge fund solution – the InTrust Advisors Multi-Manager Fund, L.P.  The firm also began managing separate account allocations to hedge funds for private placement life and annuity clients. This strategy allowed the firm to become one of the most experienced hedge fund asset allocators to the private placement life and annuity policies industry.

In the summer of 2007, the firm began refining its unique investment processes and focused its efforts on developing these internal investment management capabilities. It closed its hedge fund-of-fund and resigned its position as allocator on many of its private placement life and annuity insurance accounts.  The firm had run a single Market Adaptive Investment Strategy since 2003 with great success and believed a more robust version of this adaptive technology was the best way to help its clients achieve their dreams and objectives.  Trend following models were added to these momentum based strategies in 2009 to help the firm identify market and security tops and bottoms as well as provide us with the metrics to determine client exposure to the overall markets.

Today, the firm offers clients a wide variety of wealth management solutions designed to fit any client’s risk / return profile.

Our primary focus is on the affluent and super affluent individuals and families, especially in the area of pre- and post- retirement planning.  We act as a client's personal CFO of sorts (i.e., facilitator) managing the investment portion of their planning, while working with a host of unrelated, top professionals in complimentary fields to help you achieve the balance your planning needs.
